Suffolk County Executive’s Asian American Advisory Board Honors 7 Outstanding Individuals and 2 Charitable Organizations
The Suffolk County Executive’s Asian American Advisory Board honored seven outstanding individuals and two charitable organizations who have contributed to the Asian American Community from several Asian Pacific American nations including Honoree Edgar Lerias, M.D., FAAP from the Philippines and a resident of Suffolk County. These honorees were recognized and received proclamations from the Suffolk County Chief Deputy Executive Christopher Kent, Asian American Advisory Board Chair Ramon L. Villongco and Jim Young, Ph.D., Emeritus Chair, during the Second Annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Celebration held last May 15, 2010 at Stony Brook University, Charles B. Wang Center. The festival was celebrated by over 1,300 participants who experienced many multi-cultural performances, martial arts expo, workshop, vendors, corporate sponsors, several food vendors and karaoke contests”.
